PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a surface combustion type line burner having a surface of a membrane of a cloth-like material formed of heat resistant metal fibers formed as a combustion surface by providing many pores for injecting premixed gas along a lengthwise direction of a tube, covering a forward periphery of the pores with the membrane, and welding its peripheral edge to the tube. SOLUTION: In the surface combustion type line burner, many pores 2 for injecting premixed gas are provided along a lengthwise direction of a tube 1, and a forward periphery of the pores 2 is covered with a membrane 3 of a cloth-like material formed of heat resistant metal fibers, and its peripheral edge 4 is welded to the tube so that a surface of the membrane is formed as a combustion surface. The membrane can be supported to maintain a shape by a bar used also as a dispersing function of the premixed gas.
