PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent other hydraulic zero rush adjuster from being adversely affected by hydraulic pulsation, caused by a hydraulic zero rush adjuster in regard to a solenoid drive valve provided with the zero rush adjusters. SOLUTION: A hydraulic pump 150 discharges hydraulic pressure to a pipeline 152. The pipeline 152 is divided into branch pipes 152-1 through 152-4, and the respective branch pipes are connected with oil paths 80-1 through 80-4. The oil paths 80-1 through 80-4 feed hydraulic pressure to zero rush adjusters corresponding to the intake valve 156 and exhaust valve 158 of #1 cylinder and #4 cylinder by way of oil paths 82-1 and 82-2, and oil paths 80-2 through 80-4 feed hydraulic pressure to zero rush adjusters corresponding to the intake valve 156 and exhaust valve 158 of the #2 cylinder and the #3 cylinder. An internal combustion engine is ignited in order of #1 to #3 to #4 and to #2 cylinder.
