PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel injection control device for engines, capable of stopping a pilot injection of fuel to prevent the combustion of an engine from becoming unstable when a target pilot injection quantity is below a predeter mined injection quantity and is too little. SOLUTION: When a target pilot fuel injection quantity Qpt calculated by step 2 is judged to be short of a minimum stable injection quantity Qs which can be stably injected from an injector by comparison in step 4, a pilot injection quantity Qp is set to zero in step 9, and a full main injection mode in which full fuel injection quantity Qt is injected by main injection, is set. Thus, the pilot injection is not performed at the fuel injection quantity, which is short of the minimum stable fuel injection quantity Qs, and stable combustion becomes possible. The pilot injection mode is shifted with time hysteresis set in steps 5, 8, etc.
