PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a non-halogen flame-retardant resin composition exhibiting a high flame-retardant effect and excellent in electric insulating properties free from deterioration of dielectric breakdown characteristics even under a wet heat condition. SOLUTION: This resin composition comprises 100 pts.wt. of a thermoplastic aromatic polyester, 1-15 pts.wt. of a coated red phosphorus powder having coating of a cured resin and 0.001-10 pts.wt. of an epoxy compound, and has a dielectric breakdown voltage retention of 90-100% after subjected to a wet heat treatment at 121 deg.C, 100% RH and 2.1 atm for 100 hr. Desirably, 3-70 pts.wt., based on 100 pts.wt. of the thermoplastic aromatic polyester, of a novolak-type phenol resin are further contained. |
