PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packaging container and a method for packaging an article wherein the article in the packaging container is protected against damage by shock without using an ordinary packaging cushion and the article can be packaged quickly and simply. SOLUTION: The packaging container 70 comprises a pair of holding bodies 8 with flexible films 9 extended therein, wherein the films 9 are placed oppositely to house a cellular telephone T between the films 9. The container 70 has a space 810 to prevent the telephone T from being in contact with the holding bodies 8 when the telephone T is housed between the films 9.
