PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out a fully automatic operation of bending by means of a control device while dispensing with a trial bending, without having an irregularity of material characteristic value due to difference in the manufacture or lot, or an effect of characteristic value irregularity due to a roll grain difference. SOLUTION: This machine is provided with a sensor 15 on an upper plate pressing die 13 for detecting a bending angle of a work W, when the work W is bent while the work W is clamped with the upper plate pressing die 13 and a bottom plate pressing die 27 and, a position detector 39 which detects an up/down moving volume of the bottom plate pressing die 27 and a bend beam 29. A NC device 61 is also provided for calculation/controlling of an over-bent value from information such as a work material, plate thickness, bending width, and a die measurement while storing a detected value of the positioning detector 39. Thus, a fully automatic bending operation is made possible without having an effect of each characteristic value of the material, dispensing with a trial bending.
