METHOD OF USING SYNTHETIC ORGANIC POLYMER FLOCCULANT IN TAP WATER TREATMENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To safely use a synthetic polymer having excellent floc forming effect in the treatment of tap water by solving a monomer remaining problem in a polyacrylamide type synthetic org. polymer flocculant. SOLUTION: A carrier 4 having an acrylamide monomer decomposing microorganism supported thereon is allowed to coexist in a tank 1 wherein a synthetic polymer flocculant aq. soln. is prepared by adding a polyacrylamide type synthetic org. polymer flocculant 3 to water 2 under stirring and the synthetic polymer flocculant aq. soln. is stirred for a required time in the coexistence of the carrier to produce the polymer flocculant aq. soln. from which an acrylaide monomer is removed and this soln. is injected in the flowing water of a flocculating separation process in the treatment of tap water.
