PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect the guide surface of a puncture needle in an ultrasonic probe having a puncture needle adaptor. SOLUTION: A cutout part 24 for fitting a needle guide having a needle groove is formed on a body 10, and a protecting plate 18 is installed to the guide surface 24A thereof. Namely, a puncture needle is nipped between the protecting plate 18 and the needle guide. When the puncture needle is inserted to the needle groove of the needle guide, the guide surface 24A is protected from the tip edge of the puncture needle by the protecting plate 18.
