<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To crimp effectively a stent by providing a loop portion that supports the stent and can be compressed radially inwardly and can be loosened in a crimping device intended for attaching an intravascular stent to the distal end of a balloon catheter assembly in a state of covering. SOLUTION: In order to crimp an intravascular stent 5 to a shrived balloon portion adjacent to the distal end 7 of a balloon catheter assembly 8, a U-shaped receiving member 22 and an engaging member 24 stored in the interior thereof are provided. A crimping member 32 is fastened to the projection 28 of the internal end of the engaging member 24 provided with a handle portion 26 at the external end. The crimping member 32 has a compressible loop portion 42 at least in one direction of contraction, one end 36 of which is fixed to the receiving member 22, and the other end 34 being fixed to the projection 28. Therefore, by the sliding of the engaging member 24, the compressible loop portion 42 contracts, crimping the stent 5 to the balloon portion 6.</p> |
