ROTARY PLUNGERS FOR GLASS OUTLET OPENINGS

The invention concerns the structural design of a rotary plunger for discharging batches of molten glass through glass outlet openings. It consists of a shaft (6), frame (5) of the plunger and of threads (8). The rotary plunger core shaft (6), threaded cylinder (7) having a plurality of threads (8), and stabilising pipes (9) and/or profiles (9) composes a hollow framework structure of stabilised fine-grained, dispersion-hardened platinum and/or hardened alloy with the profile width ranging from 0.5 to 2.5 mm; the through shaft (6) is hollow with a plurality of the said stabilising pipes (9) and/or profiles (9) running therethrough and being attached to the cylinder (7) via their flat extremities (8) by means of one or several threads (8). The stabilising pipes (9) and/or profiles (9) are disposed offset relative to each other over the entire length of the threaded cylinder (7). The rotary plunger core shaft (6) and threaded cylinder are interconnected by flanged edges (14). The cavities in the rotary plunger are filled with material (15) which is sintered so as to remain porous.
