PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a patterning method in which even a high viscosity substance on the order of 1,000,000 cps can adhere with high precision onto a medium. SOLUTION: An electrode 14 is arranged partially or entirely on a container filled with a high viscosity substance 11 of 100-1,000,000 cps having a circular or polygonal orifice of 50μm-1 mm diameter at the lower part. Under a state where the meniscus of the high viscosity substance is stretched from the orifice, a high voltage pulse is applied to the electrode 14 in order to draw out the high viscosity substance. The high viscosity substance is then partially cut off and bonded onto a medium 16 with high precision.
