<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a safe processing method for a preform by monitoring the pilot fire for a burner with a flame detector at all times and automatically reigniting the burner by an electrical ignition device when the extinguishment of the pilot fire is detected. SOLUTION: This automatic processing apparatus is the apparatus disposed at a glass lathe. The UV rays, visible rays and IR rays released from the flame are detected or the presence or absence of the flame is easily detected from the temperature, electrical conductivity, etc., of the flame. An electrical ignition means which is capable of instantaneously reigniting the burner by automatically using a spark plug, etc., when the extinguishment of the pilot fire is detected is advantageous. In case of a failure in reignition, the supply of combustible gas (e.g.: gaseous hydrogen) and combustion supporting gas (e.g.: gaseous oxygen) are stopped and the inside of a conduit arriving at the burner for processing from a shut-off valve for stopping the supply of both gases is purged with gaseous nitrogen, by which the remaining combustible gas is expelled and the accident by the leakage of the gas is prevented.</p> |
