PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a phase separation apparatus capable of quickly separating small amounts of an organic phase and an aqueous phase mixed with each other. SOLUTION: This membrane phase separation apparatus carriers out phase separation of an organic phase and an aqueous phase mixed with each other. In this case, a water-repelling membrane-like substance 2 having fine pores is so set in a hollow cylindrical container 1 as to clog the container and the container is therefore divided into an upper chamber 3 and a lower chamber 4 with the membrane-like substance 2 and a liquid receiver 6 is further installed in a lower part of the container 1. When a mixed liquid of an organic phase and an aqueous phase is poured to the upper chamber 3 of the container 1, the organic phase is passed through the fine pores of the membrane-like substance 2 and flows down through the lower chamber to the liquid receiver 6. The aqueous phase is inhibited from passing the fine pores by the membrane- like substance 2 and remains in the upper chamber 3.
