PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus with further optimum control for accessing to a disk or a large volume of memories which improves a productivity for a marking engine. SOLUTION: The printer apparatus has an image memory sub system 14 for buffering image data to be output to a marking engine sub system used for recording information to an image-recording member. The image memory sub system 14 includes an input, a data-compressing device 20, a disk memory module 24, a semiconductor RAM memory 22, a data-developing device 30 and a control device 26. When the disk memory module 24 can operate in both of a read and a write modes, the control device 26 feeds an initialization in relation to the read mode and controls the disk memory module 24 to output compressed image data and write to the RAM memory 22. |
