PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a thickening agent showing a small change in its thickening activity caused by the temperature change (low temperature sensitivity), excellent in color-toning property and gloss maintenance, and an aqueous emulsion and an aqueous emulsion coating material obtained by blending the same. SOLUTION: This low temperature sensitive thickening agent contains one or more kinds of compounds expressed by the general formula [X, Z are each oxygen or nitrogen-containing 4-14C organic group or a 4-14C linear hydrocarbon group; Y is a divalent organic residue introduced from a diisocyanate compound; OR, OR' and OR" are each a 2-4C oxyalkylene group; (a), (b) and (d) are each 1-5 integer; (c) is >=1 integer], and has 60-120 deg.C clouding point of 0.5 wt.% aqueous solution thereof and 10,000-80,000 weight-average molecular weight. |
