PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate limitation in designing the rear part of a rear cover in the case that the rear cover is protruded to the outside with enlarging the size of a muffler, in a scooter type motorcycle. SOLUTION: In thas scooter type motorcycle provided with a rear cover member 9 arranged under a seat 8 to face in an engine body, muffler, rear wheel, etc., to be opened downward, the cover member 9 is formed in rear part drawing shape narrowing a width from a part arranging the seat 8 toward a rear end part as viewed by plane, the muffler 18 is arranged to protrude an almost cylindrically formed rear end part 18a to outside a projection area as viewed by plane of a rear end part 9b of the cover member 9, the muffler 18 has a muffler protector 19, and the muffler protector 19 is provided with a side part at least arranged in an outer side part of the muffler 18 and a creep in part 19b which creeps in around the rear end part of the muffler 18.
