PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simply handling wire tension device which can give a necessary tension force to a winding-up wire rope wound on the winding-up winch of a tower crain. SOLUTION: This tension machine is provided to a base frame 2 installed to the half mast of a tower crain, and it gives a brake force on the flange peripheral surface 3A of a tension machine drum 3 in order to wind a winding-up wire rope R1 and the like from the front end of a jib by a caliper brake device 5, As a result, a tension force is given to the winding-up wire rope R1 and the like from the tension machine drum 3, and the winding-up wire rope R1 and the like can be wound to the winding-up winch drum set to the half mast at a necessary tension force.
