PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify a configuration of a sheet material conveyance device and increase feed precision of a recording paper. SOLUTION: A driven sleeve 31 is fixed in a shaft end part of a platen roller 10. A capstan shaft 33 is pressed against a peripheral face of the driven sleeve 31. The capstan shaft 33 is rotated by integer number to feed the platen roller 10 by a fixed amount. The necessity that an expensive gear improving precision of pitch of each tooth is used is eliminated because the platen roller 10 is rotated by the capstan shaft 33. Consequently, it is possible to provide a recording paper conveyance device having high feed precision at a low cost.
