摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize an electromagnetic contact unit used in a brake controller of an elevator and to provide the brake controller of high reliability with the low cost. SOLUTION: A circuit of a brake coil is controlled by a switching element 24 for a step-down chopper. In the normal stop of an elevator, the circuit of the brake coil is cut by a cutting switching element 27. At this time, the electric current of the brake coil is mildly decreased by the time constant of the discharging resistances 21, 22. In the abnormality of the elevator, the circuit of the brake coil is cut by the contacts 18a, 19a of the electromagnetic contact unit. On this occasion, the electric current of the brake coil is rapidly decreased by the time constant of the discharging resistance 21.
