PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To drive a pinching member at the same speed with a spindle by connecting a space between the spindle and the pinching member for pinching one end of a material to be ground, which is supported by plural pairs of support bases for supporting an outer diameter part of the material to be ground at one end and the other end thereof freely to be rotated, with a means capable of floating and moving in the radial direction. SOLUTION: A material W to be ground by a cylindrical grinder 10 is supported at the outer surface of both ends thereof by a pair of support bases 20 freely to be rotated. One end of the material W to be ground is pinched by a pinching member 30, and the pinching member 30 is connected to a spindle 12 through a connecting means 15, and the material W to be ground is rotated by the spindle 12. Furthermore, the pinching member 30 has a pair of steel main bodies to be moved forward and backward in a direction crossing the axis CL of the spindle so as to pinch the outer diameter part of a core (a) as a part of the material w to be ground. With this structure, generation of distorsion of the material to be ground at the time of fitting and cutting can be prevented.
