PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevating method and device for heavy articles with a good stability, by using a jack of low cost and short length and reducing the number of processes. SOLUTION: In this elevating method, vertically stackable first to third loading tables 11 to 13 and a jack 19 which can be housed in the first and the second loading tables 11 and 12 are used. A process to install or to remove the third loading table 13 on the second loading table 12 is included in the condition that a heavy article supporting part at the upper part above the ceiling plate 14 of the second loading table 12 placed on the first loading table, is placed at the upper position above the ceiling plate 14 of the third loading table 13.
