PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat-retentive and heat-insulating container with a gap formed between a truncated conical paper cup and a sack for providing a heat- insulating air layer wherein selection of a base material for the sack to suppress reduction in heat retention and heat insulation properties while keeping container strength can be easily done, the container is safe when taking food, product properties such as printability and appearance may not be degraded, the container can be manufactured without a complicated process, and the container is easy to dispose of in disposal and has a reduced load to environments. SOLUTION: When a paper sack 1 made of paper or a paper board cut in an approximate sector form is wound around an external face of a barrel of a paper cup 2, connection of numerous unit surfaces 8, 9 of a polygonal shape or a lens shape sectioned by linear or arcuate creases 7 is formed between upper and lower rims of the sectorial paper or paperboard, before the entire sack is pasted and wound around the external face of the barrel of the cup. In addition, a heat insulating space comprising an approximately triangular truss structure or an arch structure is formed between the unit surfaces or the creases defining the unit surfaces of the pasted sack 1 and the external face of the cup barrel.
