<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To recover platinum group elements in a high yield from a metal- substrate catalyst for exhaust gas cleaning with a substrate composed of Fe-Cr alloy by dry treatment. SOLUTION: Platinum group elements are recovered from a metal-substrate catalyst in which platinum group elements are supported by a catalyst-supporting layer formed on the surface of a metal substrate. In this method, the metal- substrate catalyst is subjected to oxidizing treatment together with metal copper within a furnace. By this method, the metal-substrate catalyst can be separated into a molten oxide layer containing the oxides of the metallic components of the substrate and a molten metal copper layer containing the platinum group elements.</p> |
