PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filament winding molded item and a method for producing the same in which a crack is not caused in even the case of using heat resistant thermosetting resin as a matrix resin in filament winding molding using a strand. SOLUTION: The molded material is produced by applying filament winding molding to a strand in which thermosetting resin is impregnated into its inside and powdery thermoplastic resin is localized in the outer peripheral part thereof. Cracking resistance of the molded item is excellent. In the producing method, filament winding molding is performed by using the strand in which the thermosetting resin is impregnated into the inside and the powdery thermoplastic resin is localized in the outer peripheral part thereof. Or, filament winding molding may be applied to the strand obtained by introducing the strand into liquid thermosetting resin in which the powdery thermoplastic resin is dispersed.
