PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a safety lock of a hatch for refuge having a constitution wherein a lock member engages with a hatch main body at a position where a cover is opened a little, so as not to allow a cover to be opened any more, and wherein the engagement is canceled to allow the cover to be fully opened easily, on the occasion of refuge, only by pushing the lock member through a space formed by the cover opened a little. SOLUTION: This safety lock of a hatch for refuge is equipped with a lock member 4 which is so fitted inside a cover 3 of the hatch as to swing in the direction of a hatch main body 1 in a state of the cover 3 being closed. When the cover 3 is opened a little, the lock member 4 engages with the hatch main body 1 and the cover 3 is locked. When the lock member 4 is pushed, in this locked state of the cover, through a space formed by the cover 3 opened a little, the engagement is canceled and the cover is unlocked.
