PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the size and cost of an ink jet head by providing a connecting part with a flexible print cable on the rear surface of a head substrate and making a connection with a printed board through use of a sheet of flexible print cable. SOLUTION: The ink jet head comprises a drive unit 1, a liquid chamber unit 2 and a circuit unit 3. The drive unit 1 comprises a plurality of piezoelectric elements 12 arranged in two rows on an insulating head board 11, and a frame 13 boded to surround respective rows of piezoelectric elements 12. The circuit unit 3 comprises a printed board 32 mounting a head drive IC 33, and the like, connected with connecting parts (pads) formed on the rear surface of the head board 11 through a flexible print cable(FPC) 34. After being aligned with an electrode pattern on the rear surface of the head board 11, the FPC 34 is connected with through holes 43, 44 in the head board 11 by means of solder.
