The headlamps are carried by a transverse torsion shaft (121) whose rotation is damped by dashpot (126). Rotation of the shaft in response to rear suspension loading is effected by movement of extension arm (117) through a spring steel linkage connecting to a crank (109). The latter is carried by an upright (107) connected to an anti-roll bar and is adjusted by a spring loaded plunger (140). The other side of the plunger is connected by a cable (110a) to a yoke (128) which receives arm (129) fixed to the vehicle body. The yoke is spring connected to the rear suspension and variation in vehicle loading is transmitted to the torsion shaft (121) to correct beam alignment. Crank (109) is connected by spring (111) to the plunger cylinder (141), the spring (111) and plunger spring acting in opposite senses.
|
