PURPOSE:To provide the visual field angle control type display device which enables an observing person to privately use a display screen without wearing any special device on this person. CONSTITUTION:This visual field angle control type display device is constituted of a surface light source 101, a shutter plate 102 which is constituted of a 1st polarizing plate 105, a twisted nematic type liquid crystal cell 106 and a 2nd polarizing plate 107 and which can switch respective shutter regions to a light transmissive region and a light shielding region by electric signals, an optical path control plate 103 which consists of microlenses having the function to condense the light past the light transmissive region of the shutter plate 102 and emitted from the surface light source 101 to a prescribed position and a transmission type display device 104 which is constituted of a twisted nematic type liquid crystal cell 108 and a 3rd polarizing plate 109 and forms the display screen with the light from the optical path control plate 103 as a light source. |
