A first layer of homogenous hard plastic is injected into a mould, then a second layer of hard plastic is injected into the mould on top of the first layer, and this second layer expands to a thickness greater than that of the first layer, and the resulting panel is removed from the mould and glued to one side of a door frame to form one side (6) of the door (1). A panel for the other side (7) of the door is made in the same way, and then an expandable plastic material is injected into the gap in the frame between the two panels to form an insulation layer. An Independent claim is also included for a door made by this method. |
