mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: tool is used for abrasive machining of blanks. Tool has coarse-grained abrasive members fixed on wheel body. Sections with fine-grained abrasive layer are secured on moving members coupled with cups. The latter contain plungers attached to body and magnetic liquid. In process of machining with coarse-grained members moving members with fine-grained layer move gradually in radial direction under action of inertia forces when magnetic liquid flows through throttling channel. Speed of their displacement is adjusted by variation of magnetic field acting on liquid and changing liquid viscosity. The above-indicated actions reduce machined surface roughness.
