PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pressure control method and an apparatus for soot in which ash removal from a heat transfer surface is securely achieved. SOLUTION: There is provided a pressure detector 11 for detecting pressure of a fluid such as vapor and air injected from a soot blower 2. There is further provided a controller 16 for outputting to a pressure adjusting valve 5 an opening instruction 15 for eliminating a pressure deviation 14 between a pressure set value 13 of the soot blower 2 based upon a fuel mixing rate 12 and pressure 10 of a fluid detected by the pressure detector 11.
