SPEECH RECOGNITION TELEPHONE SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain a speech recognition service in a telephone line in a speech transmission state which is not always sufficient to recognize speech by means of a computer by receiving the signal of the telephone line through the use of a protocol with an error recovery function and restoring speech feature data. SOLUTION: An analog/digital converter 2 digitally encodes an analog speech signal which is converted into an electric signal. A speech feature extracting device 3 analyzes a digitally encoded speech signal, extracts speech feature required for speech recognition and outputs it as a digital signal. A signal encoding part 5 transmits the digital signal from the device 3 by using the protocol having an error recovery function. A signal decoding part 7 receives the digital signal transmitted through the telephone line 6 by using the protocol having the error recovery function. A speech recognizing device 8 receives the signal from the part 7, recognizes voice and outputs a character string or the like.
