PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high frequency power amplifier with a multi-stage configuration by which highly efficient power amplification is easily attained. SOLUTION: The amplifier is provided with two high frequency amplifying stages 42 and 43, an input matching circuit 45 connected to the input electrode 42 of the preceding stage, an inter-stage matching circuit 48, an output matching circuit connected to the output electrode 49 of the succeeding stage and a bias circuit consisting of a distribution factor line 65 connected to the output electrode 46 of the preceding stage. The amplifier is of high frequency power having impedance set within the range of a point A (0.7∠160 deg.), the point B (0.4∠160 deg.), the point C (0.4∠200 deg.) and the point D (0.7∠200 deg.) on a polar chart which is of a basic frequency of a succeeding high frequency amplifier stage 43 viewed from the point of the output electrode 46 of the preceding high frequency amplifier stage 42. Highly efficient power amplification is attained while making the amplifier smaller.
