PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inverter controller for a motor-driven compressor, wherein there is slight possibility of causing troubles at the start of the motor- driven compressor. SOLUTION: In an inverter controller for a motor-driven compressor, which has a three-phase inverter 21 connected with a motor-driven compressor 11 and starts the motor-driven compressor 11 at a frequency region lower than its drive-frequency region by the inverter 21, there are provided sensing means for sensing the respective-phase currents of the three-phase outputs of the inverter 21, an overcurrent protective means for performing the protective operations, when the sensed phase currents by this sensing means are overcurrents, and an operation limiting means for operating the overcurrent protection means only in the drive-frequency region of the motor-driven compressor 11. Therefore, the overcurrent protective means does not operate in a frequency region lower than the drive-frequency region to enable sure start of the motor-driven compressor 11. |
