PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To always perform a proper correction by using an appropriate reference patch. SOLUTION: At the time of preparing a patch sheet 120, an output medium information 124 (kind of printing paper, magazine ID, etc.), and an output condition information 128 (data and time, temperature at the time of outputting a test pattern for correction) are exposure-recorded together with the test pattern for correction. Also, information on output history of the test pattern for correction is updated. When a density measuring part measures the density of the patch sheet 120, not only the density of each patch 122 of the test pattern for correction, but also the output medium information 124 and output condition information 128 are read. The magazine ID to be corrected and the kind of printing paper are collated with the output medium information 124. The data at the time of outputted the test pattern for correction of the output condition information 128 is collated with the output history information. The temperature at the time of outputted the test pattern for correction of the read output condition information is compared with the present temperature (at the time of measuring the density). In the cases that the collation is in uncoincidence and the temperature difference is not less than a predetermined range, the fact is alarmed to interrupt the correction. |
