PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the loss of or damage to a protecting cap by inserting a protecting cap into an optical connector socket provided in a case body, and integrally fitting a wire or a string with the protecting cap, and fitting the wire or the string to the equipment body. SOLUTION: A protecting cap 3 to be inserted into an optical connector socket 2 provided in a case body 1 is fitted to the case body 1 for fixing with a screw 5 through a wire 4. A string can be used in place of the wire. Since the protecting cap 3 and the case body 1 are integrally formed with each other, a loss of or damage to the protecting cap 3 can be prevented when the protecting cap 3 is removed from the optical connector socket 2. The protecting cap 3 can be easily and surely fitted to the case body 1 for fixing by engaging an engaging member provided in a rear end of the wire 4 with an engagement groove of the case body 1.
