PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely separate wavelength multiplex channels with a dense channel interval without occurrence of crosstalks in spite of employing an existing Medicare filter. SOLUTION: The optical system is provided with an optical circulator having ports 1, 2, 3, and the port 1 receives wavelength multiplex channels λ1-λ8. The wavelength multiplex channels λ1-λ8 pass through an etalon 117 connected to the port 2 of the circulator 82, through which even numbered channels λ2, λ4, λ6, λ8 are separated. Then the channels reflected in the etalon 117 pass through the port 3 of the circulator 82 and are led to an etalon 117a, where odd numbered channels pass through and an existing wavelength division multiplexing WDM device 92 separates the odd numbered channels into the respective channel signals. |
