PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make settable an optimum image according to the kind of an input image signal to be displayed by providing a storage means storing picture quality information related to plural kinds of image signals and a judging means for judging the kind of the input image signal and correcting the input image signal according to the image information corresponding to the judging result of the judging means in the picture quality information stored in the storage means. SOLUTION: A system control part 14 judges automatically the kind of the image signal inputted to a signal switch part based on a synchronizing signal incorporated in the inputted image signal. The signal switch part is provided with a synchronizing separator part 29, a synchronization judging part 30 and a video switch part 31. The system control part 14 judges the input position of the input image signal based on the signal s26 showing the presence of a video signal by the synchronization judging part 30, and judges the kind of an external device by the judged input position. The system control part 14 switches the video signal outputted by the video switch part 31 according to the result of the kind judgement of the external device.
