PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hybrid vehicle which has a high degree of freedom for layout and can secure safety even when its motor becomes abnormal. SOLUTION: A hybrid vehicle is provided with an engine which drives front wheels, a generator 6 which is driven by means of the engine, and a motor 8 which drives rear wheels with the electric power generated from the generator 6. The vehicle is also provided with a battery 11 which is charged with the electric power generated from the generator 6 and a control unit which switches a three-terminal switch 10 to a motor-side terminal (m) by adjusting the voltage of the generated power of the generator 6 to 42 V by means of a regulator 9 when the assist from the motor 8 is required and switches the switch 10 to a battery-side terminal (b) by adjusting the voltage to 12 V by means of the regulator 9 when the assist from the motor 8 is not required. When the abnormality of the motor 8 is detected from the detected results of an ammeter 14 and a voltmeter 15, the control unit 16 adjusts the voltage of the generated power of the generator 16 to 12 V and, at the same time, switches the three- terminal switch 10 to the battery-side terminal (b). |
