PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the occurrence of accident to damage the tooth part when a movable body runs away, by making the durability excellent and stabilizing the moving speed of the movable body. SOLUTION: The optical disk device is constituted in such a manner that the movable body 1A of an optical pickup 1 is supported by a guide rail 3 so as to be slidable, and a rack 5 mounted on the movable body 1A is engaged with a driving pinion 6, then the movable body 1A is fed with slide in the direction of the arrow (a), (b) along the guide rail 3 through the rack 5 by making the driving pinion 6 rotate forward/backward. In this case, the rack 5 is movably mounted on the movable body 1A along the direction c, d orthogonally crossed to the sliding direction a, b of the movable body 1A, and a spring 13 is provided for pressing the rack 5 onto the driving pinion 6.
