PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pickup with which the inclination regulation of an optical axis may be exactly executed, the degree of freedom in design is enhanced and the reduction of a size, weight and cost is possible. SOLUTION: An objective lens 4 is cantilevered at a regulating base 6. The regulating base 6 and a fixing base 13 are elastically held and fixed by a retaining member 15. The regulating base 6 is provided with a sliding part 6b and sliding parts 7b and 7b existing nearer the objective lens 4 side than the sliding part 6b. Regulating curvilinear surfaces 13a, 11a and 11a on which the sliding parts 6b, 7b and 7b slide are formed to a recessed spherical surface shape around the point on the optical axis L of the objective lens 4 alongside the fixing base 13. The regulating base 6 is stabilized and the inclination regulation may be executed by varying the radii of the regulating curvilinear surface 13a and the regulating curvilinear surfaces 11a and 11a.
