PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize proper transmission quality at low costs by using a single mode line fiber with an extremely wide mode cross-section in which wavelength distribution is large and/or the spectrum slope of wavelength distribution is sharp, and connecting a compensating means with the fiber for compensating at least the large part of the wavelength distribution and/or the spectrum slope. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a transmitter T connected through a transmission line L with a receiver R in a normal method. The transmitter T transmits an optical signal for carrying transmission information, and the transmission line L guides these signals in the direction shown by an arrow 1. A receiver R receives these signals and reproduces the transmission information. The transmission line L is provided with an input 10 and an output 11, and the transmission line L includes a series of serially connected segments S. Each segment is extended from an input 2 to an output 3 of the segments, and a series of serially connected distribution compensating devices are included. |
