PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute an automatic operation control by providing a person sensor for sensing the presence or absence of a human body in an air conditioner, and providing a switch for selecting whether an output of the sensor is considered to an air conditioning operation or not in a remote controller. SOLUTION: A self-control switch 58 is provided in a remote controller R, and the switch 58 is operated to select whether a self-control operation is executed or not. When the self-control operation is executed, the controller R decides whether a person is excited in a room or not based on a sensing operation of a person sensor, decides bright or dark based on the sensing operation of a photosensor and automatically switches to 'normal', 'stop', 'mild' or 'pleasant sleep' of four operation modes.
