PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stroboscopic device capable of shortening a charging time by selecting an optimal charging current in accordance with the kind of a battery to be used in the case of using two or more kinds of batteries differing in characteristics. SOLUTION: A stroboscopic unit 14 comprising a main capacitor and a its charging means 20 is provided with a charging current varying means capable of adjusting a charging current suitable to characteristics of each battery, corresponding to the kind of the battery 16 capable of being mounted on the system of a camera 10. A CPU of a control circuit 12 discriminates the kind of a battery 16 installed on the camera 10 through a battery kind detection means 18, and sets a best charging current in accordance with the kind of battery 16 to be used. Thus, it is possible to shorten a stroboscopic charging time by the battery without causing system down. |
