PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display program guide containing image information and video information. SOLUTION: Program guide information to create a program guide on which title, broadcasting time, broadcasting channel, etc., of a program are displayed is superposed on vertical blanking period of the video signal as in the conventional manner, the image information about the program guide is further broadcasted at specified time as the video signal and the broadcasting time of the image information about the program guide is added to the program guide information. The image information about the program guide to be broadcasted at the specified time is fetched by an image fetching circuit 11a, converted into digital data and stored in a RAM 2 by an image information fetching control means 9a of a CPU 1. Thus, the program guide containing the image information is displayed without transmitting large quantity of data in the vertical blanking period.
