PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance efficiency and the diversification of uses. SOLUTION: This contact switch is provided with a sensor surface 12 of a flat material and an illumination display 23 which has a sensor element 11 coupled thereto in a housing 22. The sensor surface 12 is provided away from the housing 22 by having a cut-out 26 corresponding to the shape of illumination means 27. The sensor surface 12 surrounds the illumination means 27 substantially in a non-overlapping manner and, specifically, is complementarily rested above the housing 22. The sensor surface 12 can be provided with an elastic conductive contact plate 13 for better adaptation to an irregular cover 16.
