摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the cleaning performance of a cleaning member with respect to the surface of an image carrier by setting the form of a lubricant block so that the application amount of lubricant per unit area to an area in the axial line direction of an image carrier, on which only the cleaning member abuts, may be the smallest. SOLUTION: The area in the axial line direction of the image carrier where a cleaning blade 17, a transfer roller 5 and the developer D of a developing device 4 all abut on the surface of the image carrier consisting of a photoreceptor 1 is set as a 1st area A. The area in the axial line direction of the image carrier where the blade 17 and the roller 5 abut on the surface of the image carrier but the developer D does not abut is set as a 2nd area B. The area in the axial line direction of the image carrier on which only the blade 17 abuts is set as a 3rd area C. The form of the lubricant block 20 is set so that the application amount of the lubricant per unit area is made the largest in the 1st area A, larger in the 2nd area B and the smallest in the 3rd area C.
