PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the rear end of an image from being cut in printing a halftone image with a printer which has only a little work memories. SOLUTION: A CPU 2 of a host personal computer(PC) performs printing-out by transferring print data for the unit of page to be printed out by a printer after performing compression spool. In that case, the transfer data amount of print data for each page in the compression spool is measured, on the basis of the result of comparison between that measured transfer data amount and a preset prescribed amount, the print data of a page corresponding to prescribed conditions are converted to much lower resolution and afterwards, the compression spool is performed again. Then, the print data, to which the compression spool is performed again, are transferred to the printer and printed out.
