PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a recording layer having high reflectivity and excellent adhesion strength, hardness and uniformity of the thin film compsn. and having two or more absorption maxima in the visible ray region by bringing sublimated org. dyes into contact with a plasma-state ionized gas to form the recording layer. SOLUTION: The recording layer formed by vapor deposition of pigment type org. dyes having high thermal decomposition temp. in an atmosphere with plasma activity has good optical characteristics such as reflectivity and absorptivity, and the layer keeps optical physical values and physical strength with const. film characteristics such as film strength against environmental changes. As for the org. dyes constituting the recording layer, any dyes can be used as far as they give two or more absorption maxima to the recording layer. The two absorption maxima are preferably present in a 410 nm wavelength region and a 650 nm wavelength region. Thereby, the obtd. layer can be used as a write-once optical recording medium suitable to keep continuity for generations of optical disks to be used for from a red color laser to a blue color laser as a read-out light source. |
