PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove an isolated point by an SIMD(single instruction multiple data stream) control system. SOLUTION: An isolated point removal device judges that peripheral pixels 401 are not the area of dot images and photo images in the case that the values of all the 16 pieces of the peripheral pixels 401 are smaller than a threshold TH1 (or equal to or smaller than the threshold TH1) in the matrix of 5×5 pixels including a pixel P under consideration at the center. The device judges that it is the area without characters or dots or the like around the pixel P under consideration in the case that the several pixels 402L and 402R of the same line as the pixel P under consideration on the outer side of the matrix are smaller than the threshold TH2 (or equal to or smaller than the TH2) and also it judges whether or not the pixel P under consideration is the isolated point. |
